"you could be seeing a preview of Broadway's next big hit!"
~CNN's Showbiz This Weekend

On March 18, 1950, The Farmington Daily-Times reported unidentified flying objects over their small town in northwestern New Mexico.  The number varied from a half dozen to several hundred, but the descriptions were all the same: saucer-shaped objects flying in formation at unbelievable speeds and altitudes, performing impossible aerial maneuvers.

In 2001, Charles Pike, a resident of next-door Aztec, NM, found the original newspaper article and decided to use it as the foundation for a theater piece.  He asked several writer friends around the country to read the article, then write a monologue or short scene inspired by it.  He gave no other instructions.  The writers could write anything they wanted, as long as the article served as the inspiration.

He then compiled the diverse monologues and scenes into an evening of theater benefiting the Aztec Public Library's Oral History Project.

Saturday Players brings The Farmington Armada to New York in a completely re-conceived, re-written, remounted production.  UNIDENTIFIED:  The Farmington Armada  uses the original Aztec, NM production as the kernel for an entirely new show.

Half of this small town sees something in the sky... something they can't explain... something which terrifies them....

UNIDENTIFIED follows a day in the life of the residents of Farmington (and those of a nearby planet, as well).
